About Amy

I am a bodyworker and artist living in Albuquerque, NM whose passion lies in human potential and spiritual upliftment. I have been in private practice as a Natural Therapeutics Specialist, deep tissue massage therapist and energy worker since 2000 and an avid Qigong practitioner since 1995. In my practice I teach preventive and supportive self-care through breathing, stretching, aromatherapy, nutritionals, and herbal remedies, among others. I am committed to helping people heal themselves and the world by sharing the ways in which I have healed myself and learned how to thrive in the process. Creative expression in all forms was and is an integral part of that process. I believe in the healing power of creative expression and working with personal imagery and weave that into the work I do.

I went to school for Interior Design in the early 90’s in Philadelphia, PA and took my love of design into learning carpentry, furniture making, and woodcarving. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of New Mexico in 2016. Depending on the day, I am either carving wood, drawing on the floor with colored pencils, painting on an easel, creating a mural somewhere, singing at the top of my lungs, or moving my body ecstatically to music or silence in whatever way I want to move.

All of the work I do is inspired by my own healing journey through life. From spiritual seeking, shamanic practices, psychotherapy, and meditation, to a host of other alternative healing practices, I have sought to heal the fractures in my own being. Art making, alongside all of these other practices, has been a way for me to experience a sense of refuge, as well as experience my own resiliency and strength. These practices have become a way to listen more deeply to my spirit and to act on what I hear. It is empowerment. That is what I wish for you.

I am beginning a new venture as a Personal Transformation Coach with a focus on transforming insecure attachment styles and co-dependent ways of being to help people learn how to have heathy interdependence in relationships. Navigating and reprogramming core wounds and beliefs, learning what your needs are and how to express and meet them healthfully, establishing and maintaining good boundaries with others, and learning how to communicate feelings, needs and boundaries in a mutually supportive way are just some of the things we will be focusing on. I always wanted to travel the world as a solo-adventurer. I realized a long-held dream of traveling to France by myself in 2018. This photo as taken as part of a professional photo shoot during a retreat I took part in to help me reclaim my femininity and learn how to express that outwardly. I'm looking forward to my next adventure wherever it may be!

My previous life as a waste oil collector in 1997 at 26 years old. I’ve softened up quite a bit since then.
